I am a visual arts educator, photographer, and graphic designer with more than two decades of experience in secondary technical and vocational education.
My work brings together art, design, photography, technology, and education. I believe meaningful learning develops when people have opportunities to observe carefully, investigate ideas, make things, reflect on their choices, and share what they discover.
Alongside teaching, I maintain an active practice in photography, graphic design, digital imaging, and visual communication. Working across these fields allows me to bring real creative processes into the classroom and keep my teaching connected to contemporary practice.

I teach visual arts as a way of developing both practical ability and creative thinking.
My approach combines strong visual foundations with hands-on projects, technology, experimentation, problem-solving, and reflection. Rather than focusing only on techniques, I encourage students to understand the ideas and decisions behind their work.
My experience as a photographer and designer continually informs this approach.

I want students to learn how to see, create, communicate, and imagine possibilities.
Visual arts education can develop much more than technical ability. It can nurture curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, persistence, confidence, and the willingness to try something unfamiliar.
I want students to experience creativity as an active process—questioning, experimenting, making decisions, learning from mistakes, responding to feedback, and gradually developing their own ways of seeing.
